In order to house the \u2018Permanent Collection of the History of Children\u2019s Toys and Books\u2019, the
\nMunicipality ceded three buildings at the picturesque site of Gialos at Nea Madytos.
\nAll of them dispose a courtyard with ample space for various activities, on the coastal
\nzone of the bay, offering a view of the Venetian Castle towering over Myrina.<\/p>\n

One of the buildings (former Veterinary Clinic) hosts exhibits of school life. The adjacent building (former Army Officers’ Club) will be used for temporary exhibitions and educational programs, while the main body of the old toy collection is hosted at a charming traditional building, constructed in 1906, during the final ottoman period of Lemnos, when the building functioned as a school.<\/p>\n

Since then, this particular venue was used for numerous purposes, the last of which being
\nthat of a kindergarten. So, the children\u2019s voices which first resound in 1906 and met
\nthe recent voices of the kindergarten children, now become one with the little visitors of the Exhibition and the nostalgic reminiscences of the adults who will retrieve parts of their
\nchildhood.<\/p>\n
